Well, I lost count already.
A video of Norwegian Skier Fred Syversen’s accidental 107 meter world record cliff drop last season starting circulating around today, check it out – (link)

Also the province of Quebec is now enforcing a law requiring winter tires on all cars between November 15th and April 15th. “Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Latvia are among the countries that have similar laws requiring drivers to use winter tires to navigate snowy roads.” (link) I don’t know much about Quebec’s weather or topography, but at least they’re not doing the passenger vehicle chain-up lines like CHP does outside of Lake Tahoe on 80.
So those of you from Colorado remember the 2007 Rocktober World Series ticket website crash? The same thing just happened for the Freeskiing World Tour registration – I guess all 75 Telluride competition spots sold out just 8 minutes yesterday and today’s Snowbird/Kirkwood noon M.S.T. registration crashed MSI’s registration website. Not only that, but the only way MSI contacted people about the crash and registration reschedule was through the FWT Facebook group. I think the world will be a much happier place when network admins can more accurately predict internet traffic and realize not everyone sits behind social networking websites as much as they do.
Anyway, got in some nice turns at Loveland these past few days. My new boots are breaking in nicely, especially for such a stiff boot. HUGE step up in power and control over my old 200 day plus packed out Burton Shaun White’s.
Colorado backcountry users watch out out there, even this early into the season things are starting to slide. Three climbers triggered a slide and were dragged 1000 feet down Torrey’s Peak this past Saturday. Luckily, no one was seriously injured. (link) Here’s Berthoud picture update -
After riding I went home and built up a little transition under a balcony with the first real snow accumulation of the season. There’s some funny video of me very unsuccessfully bomb dropping off it it, eventually I’ll edit it into something.
